90 Day Jane

without comments

I’m sure this is going to blow up all over the internet shortly, but goddamn if its not super interesting (and ironic considering I just stumbled across this not 5 minutes after finishing my previous post…), but 90 Day Jane has recently made the decision to kill herself in 90 days, and is anonymously documenting the thoughts and emotions associated with such a decision. If anything, I hope that she’s telling the truth and somehow broadcasts it on the internet just so we know she wasn’t faking all along.

Its a hell of an idea, and truth be told, I wish I’d thought of it first.

update: looks like it was all a fake, and even before it lasted a week it blew up and she got scared and admitted it was an “art project

I think I need to figure out a way to die a tragic young death. I’m pretty sure most people think that I have load of potential for greatness in my life, but, while I suppose I agree, I can definitely see myself squandering all of my potential and essentially wasting my life. I think the best solution to this problem is some sort of James Dean or Heath Ledger-style conclusionary chapter to the story of my life in order that I’ll always be remembered as the “young man with so much potential,” rather than “that old guy who bit it with nothing to show.” I don’t think it would take much to go down in history, I’d just have to put in another 5 years of hard work, in the mean time taking up some sort of extreme hobby whether it be fast cars, cocaine, booze or all three which I will eventually lose control of and tragically or accidentally end my life at the height of my game, thereby earning a place on wikipedia and some well-deserved rest.

Who doesn’t want to have “choked to death on vomit after crashing a sports car into oncoming traffic with a kilogram of cocaine in the trunk” written on their tombstone?

Interesting small format oil paintings with intricate detail… I could be him. The interesting part, to me, is his method of representation/selling – seems to be 100% ebay. Not to mention that it seems to be paying off well, as he’s sold a few of his recent 8″x8″s for upwards of $700.
